The state-of-the-art, Thermogravimetric / Differential Scanning Calorimeter/Mass Spectrometer (TGA/DSC/MS) system has the capability to run gram-size samples to enable the analysis of macroscopic material. The large sample size feature enables the study of sample inhomogeneities, which is not possible with systems that test milligram sample size. The furnace operation supports temperature ranges from ambient to 1700oC, and the sample chamber supports both vacuum and / or specific atmospheric conditions. The attached mass spectrometer has the capability to monitor a wide range of atomic and molecular masses. The instrument is installed in a glove box to ensure sample containment.

The system can be used to study mechanisms and kinetics of material reactions in varied atmospheres including static and dynamic conditions.

Benefits and Features

  • Continuous weight change measurement for large samples and extended operating temperature range.
  • Operates in vacuum, moist and dry gas environments.
  • Glove box installation for control of contamination.
  • Built-in mass spectrometer for gas composition monitoring.
